Coca-Cola is set to make waves at this year’s Panagbenga Festival with its “Tapon to Ipon: Basta Klaro, Panalo!” campaign, aiming to turn plastic waste into valuable resources. Festival-goers can participate in this eco-friendly initiative on February 29 to March 1 at the Rose Garden, Burnham Park, in Baguio City.
The “Tapon to Ipon” campaign is a nationwide effort by Coca-Cola to collect post-consumer clear PET plastic bottles from any brand. The goal is to ensure these bottles are recycled and transformed into new ones, promoting a circular economy. All collected bottles will be processed at PETValue Philippines, the country’s first food-grade bottle-to-bottle recycling facility. This facility is a joint venture between Coca-Cola and Indorama Ventures, a global leader in sustainable chemical solutions.
During the Panagbenga Festival, Coca-Cola’s booth at the Rose Garden will serve as a collection point for clear PET plastic bottles. Visitors are encouraged to bring their used bottles and learn more about the recycling process. This initiative not only supports environmental sustainability but also educates the public on responsible plastic disposal.
Coca-Cola’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond this event. The “Tapon to Ipon” campaign is part of a broader effort to promote environmental stewardship and create a circular economy for PET plastics in the Philippines. By partnering with Indorama Ventures, Coca-Cola is setting a benchmark for corporate responsibility and sustainable practices in the beverage industry.
Festival-goers are invited to join the movement by bringing their post-consumer clear PET bottles to the Rose Garden on February 29 to March 1. Through small actions, participants can make a significant impact, supporting a cleaner, greener future for the community and the planet.
